(Empires) Dlense and Glense harness a fair amount of the energy output of the star. This indicates that the civilisation or civilisations responsible for constructing these artifacts is at least of type two. The harnessing of stellar power, involving system engineering for a terraforming project, is a hallmark of type two civilisations. The technology behind the two artifacts is clearly different. Glense involves a high degree of manipulation of a basic force of the universe. Dlense is the inferior construction, involving the use of a conventional optical construct. Duodome is hard to classify. Firstly, type zero civilisations can build structures on this scale, but this artifact must have been built by a starfaring civilisation, which is at least type one. Its strange material properties indicate that it could be a more advanced civilisation. However, as a minimum a type one civilisation would be responsible for this structure.
